Beanies Health Foods – distributors of the Fry’s range of vegan burgers, schnitzels and sausages, and also the excellent B’Nice range of rice ice cream, plus the Alicer’s range of frozen burgers. Beanies are a family firm based on the south coast and have been right at the heart of the growth of the vegan festival phenomenon that has swept the UK over the last few years. Present at loads of shows with their free tasters, the whole family turns out with the most impressive array of vegan food imaginable, all cooked fresh to taste. We love Beanies and wouldn’t know what to do without them – welcome back, supersizers, and thanks for your support. see:
Congratulations to Beanies too - their latest product the Fry's vegan Chicken Burger has just been awarded Best Vegan Product at the Brighton Vegan Fayre, in the face of some stiff competition. Wonderpig especially was very content to vote for this product although he did have to guzzle at least a dozen of everything on offer before he could make his mind up - but the vote was unanimous from all 3 celebrity judges including not only a well rounded pink fluffy vegan caroon superhero (Wonderpig, obviously) but an equally well rounded Posh Eddy from Off the Hoof and an extremely svelte and yummy Maya Van Doll from rock group SohoDolls.
Congratulations to all at Beanies and Frys for yet another top drawer vegan winner! Plant based people of the world unite!
The Vegan Society – Celebrating their 65th anniversary in November 09, and continuing to flourish in all things vegan, including publishing their award winning quarterly magazine The Vegan, plus numerous pamphlets, leaflets and booklets containing a huge wealth of information about all aspects of the vegan lifestyle. Their stalli s always overflowing with vegan goodies, products and information as well as some right nice people too and is a bug part of the Bristol show every year. Thanks very much to the Council for their generosity and support once again, and also to the team for all their hard work that goes into doing shows like this. Well worthy of our support

Established in the same year the world’s most aggressive vegetarian (Adolf Hitler) disappeared off the face of the Earth (officially at least) and his maniacal plans for world domination came to a shuddering halt. The Vegan Society has been in place for almost 70 years offering advice and support to all those wishing to live a karmically infused lifestyle free from animal products or the food derived therein. Offering an excellent range of products and services, including books and magazines to help smooth the transition into a fully vegan lifestyle which many find much more difficult than others. It also provides links on it’s website (www.vegansociety.com) to almost every conceivable facet of life which the aspiring vegan might need auxiliary help and support on. From health issues to sport, to allergies, parenting and lifestyle everything is covered and no holes are barred from this comprehensive and all-encompassing goldmine of information. There’s even a fascinating section on Vegan hobbies so your child doesn’t have to be exposed to the horrors of bone charcoal drawing or even beating a stick against a animal skin drum. So push the boat out and get involved in some vegan arts and crafts! So in a world positively awash with animal products, either direct or indirect, it is reassuring to know that the Vegan Society stamp of approval is available to aid the discerning vegan shopper what is hot and what is not. Visit the website or their trade stall for more information or to find out how to join.

Posh Eddy from Off the Hoof adds......
This family run outfit have revolutionised the hitherto taboo world of cheese/dairy eating for both veggies, vegans and even just lactose-curious food enthusiasts the world over. As you can probably imagine, these staggeringly innovative cheese-engineers hail from the craggy and incomparably tranquil shores of Western Scotland (Isle of Bute to be precise). Upon this merry Isle live four dashing young scamps with a penchant for non-dairy dairy and who are fundamentally responsible for producing the impossibly scrumptious ‘Sheese’ range amongst many others. Founded on a solid bedrock of compassion for all creatures great and small, the four suitably rugged and photogenic frontmen (Mark and Guy Crichton and Pete and Mike Manvell) were brought up not eating animals and therein lies the inspiration for the company. This motley gang of vegan food scientists are continually coming up with new vegan foods because it means so much to them. Spurred on by a lifetime of great karma and high grade motivational philosophies from the likes of Ghandi (“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the ways its animals are treated”) and ye epic Greek sage ‘Hippocrates’ whose quotes feature on their superb website (www.buteisland.com). They inspire and amaze all those who come into contact with them to try eating animal-free food. They supply their delectable treats to eateries all over the world and in doing so prove that the age-old excuse of not giving up dairy – that there’s just no dairy-free alternative to cheese that actually tasted of cheese – is no longer viable. So lube up your crackers with some Sheese and try life as a Bute Island convert and with recipes aplenty on the website, it’s no wonder they on top in the world of non-dairy dairy!

VITAMIX - Wholefood lovers brace yourselves as Vitamix brings food processing into the 21st century Buck Rogers style with the Vitamix 5000. A top of the range blender with a difference and as such claims to hold the lofty mantle of greatest blender and juicer on the face of planet Earth. Due in part to the ferocious motor housed inside it’s outer casing which can churn and pulp even the most heavy-duty creations from Gaia’s bountiful garden of wonders. The blades would put a samurai warrior to shame and apparently never have to be changed, so the Vitamix 5000 wonder blender is also packing a unique 5-year guarantee into the deal. Its all down to the staggeringly hi-tech research which shows ‘phytonutrients’ and antioxidants contained within whole foods can significantly reduce the damage caused to cells by evil free-radicals. Hard part is getting this essential vibe into a digestible form as its usually locked-up tight inside skin, pulp and seeds. Brutal as it sounds the Vitamix 5000 is the only kitchen appliance in the known Universe that can rupture the cell walls of fresh wholefoods and thus deliver the full nutritional love our bodies crave.
If you ever thought you might get bored after 6 months with a food blender then visit their epic website which will inspire and amaze with the “52 Food Feats” made capable by this stunning invention. It also provides podcast evidence of the vicious fruit-wielding antics of Vitamix 5000 national sales manager Nicholas Wring. Watch as he mercilessly stuffs a seemingly inpossible amount of fruit and texturally challenging foodstuffs into this miraculous creation, only to then be presented (in under two minutes) with a velvety smooth paste of nutritiously inspirational goodness that would undoubtedly slide down even the most sceptical fruit-o-phobe’s throat.

Kingfisher Natural Toothpaste - 'We started making Kingfisher Natural Toothpaste in 1988. Richard Austin, Kingfisher’s founder and proprietor (and the guy who replies to your e-mails) started one of the UK’s first wholefood shops in 1976. From behind the counter he came to the conclusion that people would want to buy toothpaste that didn’t rely on artificial colourings, flavourings, sweeteners and preservatives to do its job. Now Kingfisher is the UK’s leading natural toothpaste and we are really pleased to be 2009 Ethical Consumer Best Buy.
Our toothpaste contains no artificial colourings, flavourings, sweeteners or preservatives.
Instead, we use natural ingredients like real fennel, real lemons and real peppermint so Kingfisher tastes delicious. Kingfisher Natural Toothpaste has never been tested on animals and we’ve been a cruelty-free product from the beginning. We have gone on record as stating that we would cease trading rather comply with any compulsory testing regulations. We were delighted to be named PETA’s Best Cruelty-free Toiletries and Beauty Product.
Our toothpaste is vegan, gluten-free, GM-free and made in the UK.
Kingfisher is available in 5 sensational varieties, with or without fluoride, from health food shops, some supermarkets and alternative healing centres.'
